Inventor of Leggings
♥ I'll love you forever

Today I thought, why in the world would I be sad?
I've got all these wonderful things to be grateful for.
So, today, I dwelt for a few moments on the things I love.
Who wants to see if I can pull out twenty-five things that I love and am grateful for from this photo?
Well I'm doing it anyways :)

WELCOME to THE FAMILY!

Alright people, it's the moment I've been waiting for.
Possibly all week,
possibly all summer,
possibly all of my whole stinkin' life.
MACBOOK PRO IS HERE!
And yes, I have appropriately named her
Lucee Mac
[you know like Lucy Mack Smith & Emma Smith -- it seemed like a good idea to me!]
So welcome to the family :)
Can't wait to get things going on this beauty
iTunes, Photos, Lion, GAH-it's gonna be so wonderful!
Henree (my iPhone) will finally have a home to sync  up too.
Seriously, life is so good.
Erm -- oh yes and here are some pictures for you, you documenting the amazing experience of opening the wonderful box of happiness and joy and all sorta of magical moments to come!

Oh and just for those of you who read my blog to hear about those random guy adventures.
Here is another one for you, yep, it really happened.
It's that moment when I meet a cute guy in the BYU Bookstore, he struck up a conversation with me while we waited in line for 15 minutes. He heard my name is Emma from the guy processing my contract, he then asked what my major was? I said Neuroscience with a minor in Spanish. Pre-Med? He questioned. Nope, just want to be a professor. He tells me that he thinks this is a noble cause, thought about teaching high school - he laughs, okay, ya, good choice he says. He makes some witty comment about teaching high school, but I'm caught up in his laugh. He asks how far I have to go? Two years, 'til the first goal, Bachelor's. Three more, all the generals are done though. He tells me he is pre-med, bio major while minoring in Information Systems. IT? That's sweet. This is the moment he smiles because he gets that I'm a computer girl too. He tells me that the Spanish is amazing, he tells me a joke in spanish, I laughed at the fish joke, it's nada. At this point he had bought his terabyte hard drive.  Then he walks away and says it was nice meeting you Emma, hopefully I'll see you around campus, hopefully soon. I let him walk away.
This is the moment I think, why didn't I ask for his number?
Ah well, moment of opportunity gone. Run into him on campus? I sincerely hope so.

--and back to the MacBook, Lucee & Lion I think I'm in love.

Bear Lake Love

For those of you who have never been to Bear Lake, it sorta looks like this:

It's basically one of the most beautiful places, maybe not in the whole world, but for sure in Utah.
Or maybe in Idaho?
How many states did we go through??
Wyoming, Idaho, Utah.
Whatever, you get the idea.
This was the second time I've ever been to Idaho,
but really it's the first because last time it was in an airport with no windows.
Weird, huh?
Really it was a lot of firsts for me.
Boating, Raspberry Shakes, Tubing, Idaho...
Truly, it was wonderful! It was beautiful, did I tell you about my first time boating?
Flying at high speeds on a tube was one of the scariest experiences of my life.
I'm pretty sure anytime we went over a wave I screamed.
I was so scared after I face planted, then hit Vanessa, that I probably peed my pants.
Did I really just tell you that I peed my pants because I was so scared? Yep, guess I did. Thanks Brother Rich for flipping us.
I laughed 'til I cried, I had a lot of 'staches, made some bracelets, ate some raspberry shakes, went to Paris let my hair blow in the wind, ate some fantastic food, crazy dancing,
saw some fireworks and just had tons of fun!
[despite the fact that I may or may not have come back with another death cold :/ bleh]
Did I mention I finally got my grassy field photos! Woo!
So thanks Bear Lake beauties for the wonderful time ha ha

p.s. Thanks to Kristy's little brother Cougar!

He took the threesome ones :)
Also, he can touch his tongue to his nose!
How awesome is that?
Cougs, you're the coolest
and your hair really kinda does look like JBiebs.

stronger &

Once on a blind date I was told that
all art does not have to portray something beautiful,
they said, you know how they always ask, what defines something as art?
Well I say, what defines something as art is if it portrays how you feel.
And some days you don't always feel like a masterpiece.
Today, I felt beautiful, I laughed, I smiled, I worked hard -- I just got my heart broken along the way.
I could say this was unfair,
but really - it was all fair.

The thing about love, is that it is all a choice.
It is completely and undeniably a decision that you make.
I chose to love someone and I chose to let them treat me how they did.
I made that decision however crazy, or completely ridiculous it sounded.
I had the agency to let them in,
and I did.
Do I regret that?
No.
Does it hurt to let them go?
Absolutely.

The thing that still strains my thoughts, is that they never called back.
And I'm done trying to be something that isn't important to them.
I'm through making excuses for them, or standing up for them, or being there,
sometimes in life it takes more strength to walk away then to stay where you are.
I wish I was stronger,
for this is taking all the strength I have to walk away from one of my best friends.
And I'll admit it, I'm scared.
This is me running away.

[Just a big of Emmaology-- if I run away from you and I really mean that much to you -- come chasing after me.]

So, in all of this try not to judge -
try to let me just run away from things that are painful
& really
I'm just showcasing some art, just showing you how I feel.
And yes,
sometimes that means I wish I was stronger.
This is me, open, honest, just on a page.

DI - FTW

Deseret Industries - For the Win.
FOR REALS
As promised, this post is about all those amazing DI finds.
For serious, these may be the best finds so far.
Bow Top: $3 -- Banana Republic Floral Top: $5
Now, I don't want to turn into one of those fashion bloggers.
But DI - it's where it's at.
Judge as you will,
but BYU better be ready,
cause this thrifted goodness is coming soon :)

Classic Thief.

So, I may or may not have taken this top from my mother's closet,
okay, ya, ya, I did.
But it was in the "I never wear this anyways" part of her closet.
We have this "Daily 5" thing in my YSA ward,
personally, I dislike it sometimes.
It means I actually have the opportunity to get dressed every day.
That's what I keep looking at it as, an opportunity to find something new everyday.
So here is to today.
I'm gonna go thrift shop it up, go to the bank, wash my face, see one of my friends, clean my room, do the dishes, go on a run, go on a bike ride, clean some more, oh and smile a lot!
Ya, I know it's almost 3pm, but I woke up late, okay?
Really, I wouldn't have minded staying in what I was wearing already.
Bubblegum pink sweater free the world!
For serious, I was having a grand old time "pinning" things and looking at Mormon Mom blogs.
I was also laughing it up - just for silliness.
So what if I just sit in my house and laugh for five or ten minutes, it's fun.
I dare you -- try it.
Laugh at yourself, laugh at anything, just sit and say ha ha ha ha over and over again.
You'll laugh.
It makes you feel better, always.

On another note,
I found this song, ever have those days where you just find a song that describes you perfectly?
This is mine.
I'm ready for something better than this,
better than my luckless romance and cloudy days.
I'm Emma and I have this whole amazing life to live.
So, I guess that's all for today.
Be warned, thrift shopping...means I'm gonna blog later.
Yippppeee!!!

oh, p.s. here is that song, you should listen to it, it's beautiful. That's all.

-33 Posts in Drafts-
one liners from the unfinished life of Emma

Oh hi there, again.
I realize it's been awhile.
After some recent requests to post on my blog again,
I thought I should dismiss the myths.
I have been blogging, or trying to blog at least.
I have 33 posts in drafts. What this means to you,
is that I have a whole lot of unfinished thoughts.
On what? Well I have come to the conclusion to share my sporadic thoughts and make a short compilation of unfinished blog posts, just one liners that were almost inspirational.

Hacking, Spam and Facebook... I believe the original meanings were somewhere along the lines of cutting something up, some disgusting processed "claimed to be meat" that came in a can, and a book about faces for 2 year olds.

you will always have some excuse not to live your life ~ chuck palahniuk [thank you Mallory]

We're like romance to-go. So keep it in a box, and let's make it our secret?  Deal? Let's not make this complicated.

These are friends, not food. Or am I being spiritually fed? Are they food? Could you coordinate your missionary farwells, puh-lease? Church for 8 hours every Sunday leaves little time for any other type of food consuming time.

I'm a quitter, but really I'm not. Quitter: A person who gives up easily.I wouldn't call this giving up easily -- I'VE TRIED.

I'm not a mean person, but this isn't fair. Basically I'd qualify it as torture. So, mwahahaha, that was my vindictive laugh.

I hate untying heart strings, It's hurts like nothing else. I'm waiting for Wuthering Heights.

You let me, just be me and I cannot pinpoint how we met, because I think you've always been apart of me.
Even if no one sees, even if I'll never say it out loud. No chance, no way, I won't say I'm in love.

Promising to send a missionary a cupcake? It's a big commitment, kinda like marriage, but not.

What does he fill so much of his time up with? What is he so afraid of? What is he hiding? Is it so awful that he had to make me feel ashamed of who I was? This isn't right.

I've never been so afraid in my life. It's just an envelope. What am I so afraid of? Heavenly Father will take care of me. Heavenly Father always will. I haven't even opened the envelope and I'm crying.

Every relationship requires a meet cute, I am now in the business of creating the best meet cutes ever.
My husband and I are gonna have a really, really, good meet cute. I'm sure of it.

It's all so volatile, everything in front of me. I don't like it at all.

Pancakes & Waffles, when did breakfast foods become descriptions for hand holding?

So, five hours later....and -BAM- some cupcakes. Ta-Dah.

"Spock the vulcan retriever! See Spock live long and slobber!-Full House

Perfectly wrong right turns. Perfectly right wrong turns. Missed road signs and speed limits changing.

I wish things were different. I wonder sometimes if you wish they were also, do you?
The thing is, things are as they are. And I'm going to be happy that they are.

Density. How humanity defines-thickness, weight, quality, complexity, stupidity. Sometimes I wonder why you can't see it....

Fail again. Fail better.

Here is what I think. If you're a boy and you think a girl is cute. Why don't you tell her she looks pretty that day? This isn't rocket science boys, it's dating, come on.

In short, I have returned to the blogosphere. Hope you enjoyed this! Comments are always welcome and much appreciated.  So, later, life update?
Yes, followers, yes.

[Disclaimer: for some of you that may have noticed that there are only 21 one liners here, this is because some a) were just images, b) were must to confidential to share at this time, or c) have turned into some evolved version of another post on this blog]

The Harmony-seeking Idealist

There is this site it's called ipersonic.com,
my dearest friend Hannah posted about it.
I thought, hey wonder what personality type I am?
So....
ta-da,
I AM the Harmony-seeking Idealist.
Does this sound like me to you?

Let's just pull out a few
~an abundance of thoughts and feelings
~often become so immersed in a task that they forget everything else around them
~very strong insight into human nature and enjoy dealing with people
~ ability to see something totally outside [their] paradigm
~people are in the center of your thoughts
~adroitly motivate others to make positive changes in their lives

i wish you loved this girl. right here.

Just another girl in a twirly dress,
but she is different,
 different from all the rest.
From the tips of her toes
to the top of her head,
from her curves that go round
to the words that she said.
She's happy to
be just who she is
and not care who knows it
Why wouldn't you love the Emma who shows it?
So off to this and that and in between,
just being the girl who she believes.
She wishes, she dreams, that you loved her too.
Cause she knows the secrets,
of the fairytales
and the old lady who lived in the shoe.
It was that in all the things that could go bad,
you love yourself
and find the glad.
